about
This song began after hearing female friends talk about their experiences with men. I was shocked how similar their stories were and how unphased they were by gross, creepy, terrible, infuriating male bullshit they dealt with on a regular basis - as if it’s normal. Entitled male thought and action continues to be at the forefront of regression politically and socially and is a specifically male problem that should be addressed and fixed by men. The song is my attempt to get into the psyche of why certain men are like this. Though my own privilege allows me to comment on this without having to actually experience it I feel like women should not have to address this alone, if at all.
lyrics
You think that love comes right to your door
You think that you’re what she is here for
You think that she seeks confidence
And that confidence is just getting what you want
You can not face your hate for yourself
So you objectify her just to keep her down
Well, I’ll tell you what
We’re all getting pretty tired of you coming around
The entitled man
Keep your hands down your pants
Just because she walks before you
Doesn’t mean you mean anything to her now
She speaks to you with conviction and kindness
In addition to her beauty it’s plenty for you to misconstrue
You think it’s cute to cross the line
You think there’s just no way that she doesn’t want you
Entitled man,
Keep your hands down your pants
Entitled man
Keep your thoughts in your head
Just because she’s talking to you
Doesn’t mean you mean anything
To her now
Entitled man,
Keep your hands down your pants
Entitled man
Keep your thoughts in your head
Entitled man,
Keep your words in your mouth
Entitled man
Keep your hands down your pants

A depressingly reflective undertone that conveys desperation in the face of loss. A gloomy post-punk spirit, attitude, and tones, complemented by unconventional songwriting that invigorates emotion. Mr. Conner
